The gold highlights of this model make it a fitting tribute to celebrate the 25th birthday of the G-Shock. The buckle, buttons, screws, back cover, and other metal parts have gold IP (ion plating) finish. The back cover is also engraved with a 25th Anniversary logo. The black of the face combines with the gold of the glass and face printing, and of the LCD for a design that befits such a special occasion. The clear, colorless resin of the bezel and band first made its appearance on the G-Shock in 1996, as a Dolphin & Whale model and on the DW6900 model, both which marked important points in G-Shock history.
