Online Pricing Techniques

Invicta is a member of a class of watchmakers that engages in a practice I would consider somewhat deceptive, i.e. showing a "retail" price that no one ever pays. Thus, you see what looks like a really good deal (80% discount off MSRP) and conclude you are getting a great watch for a bargain price. But no one ever pays MSRP.

Other watch companies that seem to use similar pricing techniques are Croton, Stuhrling, Lucien Picard, Jacques Lemans, and Swiss Legend. Their pricing suggests that you are getting a great deal on a watch in the Movado, Raymond Weil or Maurice Lacroix price class, whereas in fact they generally price in the same range as Seiko or Citizen at substantially lower quality (based on discussion on this and other forums).
